Holymoorside History Society
Holymoorside & District History Society was formed 44 years ago following a casual remark one evening over drinks in the local public house. The format of meetings, outings and exhibitions has changed little since that original concept, and we meet every third Friday of the month (except December, July and August), in Holymoorside Village Hall at 7.30pm, with a varied programme of speakers. There is no formal membership, but everyone is most welcome and you will be assured of a warm and friendly evening, all for just £2.00, which includes refreshments and a raffle ticket.
Our aims and commitment to research, record and promote the History and Heritage of Holymoorside and district for future generations continues, embracing modern technology through our website (holymoorsidehistorysociety.com) and a presence on Facebook (Holymoorside History Society).
Our Archives have now mostly been digitally recorded and this will continue to be done, along with the on-going conservation of various artefacts, and any information, pictures or artefacts, however small, would always be appreciated, either as a donation or loan, and we assure you that any items will be returned to their owners once scanned and recorded.
